Now Playing Tracks

TEEEL produced this amazing track for the second version of Rockefeller’s end credit treatment (The first being the great Weird Hot’s cover of Nick Drake). Part of the unspoken backstory of The Man is rooted in the 1980’s, and TEEEL managed to capture that aspect while keeping modern sci-fi elements in tow.

About:

TEEEL (Jim Smith) is a electronic music producer/songwriter from New Jersey, founder of Synth Records (Synthemesc Recordings) and www.iheartsynths.com. Inspired by the 80s new wave movement, Teeel credits his sound to marathon movie watching and being an obsessive gear head. Creating music in a 10×10 teal painted room, stacked with synthesizers and guitars, TEEEL produces music that ranges from hypnotic vocal synthpop to dreamwave and dark electronic rock.

Synopsis

Rockefeller is a short historical science fiction film about a strange, stoic bespectacled Man wandering through a city collecting different items that, on the surface, have no real connection to each other:  A quart of motor oil, a sneaker, a train schedule, circuit boards…  Over time we come to learn what these items are for, who he is working for and why he seems compelled to get his job done.
